AOU Branches

The AOU currently has 7 branches in 7 Arab countries. There are plans to spread the good practices of open learning to the rest of the Arab world. All 7 branches received international accreditation from the OUVS. Furthermore, each branch received local accreditation from its corresponding accreditation authorities.

Jordan Branch ( Amman 11953, P.O. Box 1339, www.aou.edu.jo ) started in September 2002 in the city of Amman, Jordan. The branch received local accreditation one year after establishment. Funds have already been secured to build the permanent campus for the branch in the city of Amman on a very designated location on the mountains of Tareq area within Tabarboor neighborhoods. It is expected to be completed on October 2008.

Egypt Branch ( Cairo, www.aou.edu.eg ) was established in February 2003. The branch enjoys a small yet lovely campus in Nasr City. The first OUVS accreditation meetings were conducted in this campus back in 2005. The branch received local accreditation from the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.

Bahrain Branch (B.O Box: 18211, www.aou.org.bh ) started in February 2003 in the city of Manama. The branch invested on the comfort of its small community of students from various perspectives. The campus is self-contained in a central location in Khamis area. The branch received local accreditation from the Bahraini Ministry of Higher Education.

Kuwait Branch ( Khitan, Al-Janobi, www.arabou-kw.edu.kw ) was established in September 2002 in number of locations in Kuwait city before it moved to the current campus in Khitan. The branch has a large student body and enjoyed the support of the government of Kuwait. The branch received local accreditation from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Education.

Lebanon Branch ( Omar Bayhoum, Beirut 2058 4518, www.arabou-lb.edu.lb ) has a multi building campus located in a green area in Beirut. It was established in September 2002. The branch has remarkable staff with quality services to students. The branch received local accreditation from the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education.

Sultanate of Oman Branch was established recently and will start operation soon. The branch has full support from the Omani government and the AOU headquarter.

Saudi Arabia Branch ( P. O. Box 84901, Riyadh 11681, www.arabou.org.sa ) has the largest student body and has over nine regional centers disbursed across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In its structure, Saudi Arabia Branch resembles the headquarters in terms of its operational framework. It has centralized academic systems that maintain consistency while allowing sufficient room form distributed decision-making across all regional centers. The branch received local accreditation from the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education.
